Attended by over 30 experts from diverse fields (toxicologists, scientists and social scientists, technology developers, policy makers, regulators and civil society), the workshop provided a comprehensive discussion on environment, health and safety issues as well as social, legal and ethical implications in relation to nanotechnologies; risk governance procedures, national and international efforts in dealing with nanotechnology risks as well as associated challenges and policy concerns; and offering insight into how India might address risks in an appropriate strategy to regulate nanotechnology
